For Soft2Bet, a leading provider of iGaming solutions, analytics is key to understanding how to improve the player experience and accelerating development while getting insights into key performance indicators. Previously running its analytics workloads on premises, the company decided to migrate to Amazon Web Services (AWS). Thus, Soft2Bet has improved time to market by more than 200 percent, enhanced game latency, and enriched business insights.
Building a Cloud-Centered Data Foundation on AWS to Support NRT Business Insights for Soft2Bet
Founded in 2016, Soft2Bet provides solutions for bespoke casino and sports games for iGaming. The company’s data was compiled from disparate data sources, which required speed improvements close to real time. So the company set out to improve the speed of launching marketing campaigns and troubleshooting issues while maintaining regulatory reports with precision.
Soft2Bet wanted to support near real-time (NRT) analytics and remove the overhead of purchasing and installing hardware. So it worked with Snowflake, an AWS Partner, to create a unified single source of truth on AWS.
“We now have more data-analysis options, as we can easily connect different data sources quickly while keeping the same level of security,” says Yoel Zuckerberg, chief product officer of Soft2Bet. “On AWS, we can draw business insights quickly and connect and scale to as many data sources as we want in our analytics landscape. There are no scaling limitations.”
Maintaining High Availability and Reducing Compute Costs by 55 Percent on AWS
To improve availability, Soft2Bet migrated its services one by one to AWS. Soft2Bet stores its data in Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), an object storage service built to retrieve virtually any amount of data from anywhere. The company also uses Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS), which makes it easy to manage relational databases optimized for total cost of ownership.
For NRT processing of analytics, Soft2Bet runs Snowflake on AWS. The company discovered this solution in AWS Marketplace, where companies can discover, deploy, and manage software that runs on AWS. “The time to onboard a new partner has dropped by 70 percent,” says Zuckerberg.
Since migrating its analytics and core infrastructure, Soft2Bet has reduced its compute costs by 55 percent while maintaining high availability and supporting various analytics use cases such as player personalization. “We’re using our analytics to quickly find and resolve issues with our infrastructure and the player flow,” says Zuckerberg.
Developers can now rapidly iterate and test proofs of concept. Instead of infrastructure management, Soft2Bet’s teams can focus on developing new products and features. “We’ve reduced the time to run a proof of concept from weeks to 1 day—sometimes even a couple of hours,” says Zuckerberg.
Enhancing the Player Experience Further Using AWS
Soft2Bet has greatly enhanced the player experience since the migration and will continue to migrate the rest of its on-premises environment to the cloud. “Our latency has significantly reduced, and our games work much more smoothly,” says Zuckerberg. “Using AWS, we’ve made a visible difference in the player experience.”
